Compassionate God, as you know each star you have created, so you know the secrets of every heart; in your loving mercy bring to your table all who are fearful and broken, all who are wounded and needy, that our hungers may be satisfied in the city of your peace; through Christ who is our peace

Lord Jesus Christ, you call us to love one another; forgive the ways the Christians across the centuries have done the opposite, hating those who think differently than they do, persecuting those who interpretation of the Bible clashes with their own. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
9th June
Loving God, teach us that this is not our world but yours, and therefore that caring for it is not an optional extra but integral to our faith, part of our responsibility towards you. Help all people everywhere to discharge that calling faithfully. Amen
10th June
Though we cannot think alike, may we not love alike? May we not be of one heart, though we are not of one opinion? Without all doubt, we may. Herein all the children of God may unite, notwithstanding these smaller differences. John Wesley

Lord God our Father, we thank you for the family to which you have called us, for our fellowship in these strange times, the denomination of which we are part, and the great company of the church, past, present and future. For all your people, hear our prayer.
12th June
Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the life. When it comes to change, conversion even, may we be willing to open up every area of our lives to your grace and purifying power. May we risk being transformed – especially where we struggle to admit we have been wrong. May our actions for justice spring from a heart filled by your liberating love and never be just a veneer. May changes for good be ‘for good’ and not temporary window dressing. Help us Jesus, Lord of life. Amen.

Grant your blessing, Lord, on all who serve as GP’s in our communities. In their work of examining and diagnosis, give them wisdom. In their task of prescribing and treating, give them skill. In everything they do, work through them, to help and heal, relieve and reassure, safeguard and support, bringing them motivation, joy and fulfilment in their calling, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

O Lord, our living God, we praise and bless your holy name. Arisen, commanded and commissioned we live for you. Thank you for redeeming us from a sleep that would have ended in destruction and for offering so much more than we could ever ask for or imagine in our Saviour, Jesus. Breathe your Spirit’s life, love and power into us afresh that we may worthily magnify your holy name, act justly, love boundlessly and humbly walk in step with you. Amen.
Stephen Lindridge, Newcastle Upon Tyne District Chair
21st June
Loving God, we come together on this Father’s Day, reminded not just of our earthly fathers but of you. You tell us that all who believe in you shall be called your children, and you invite us to address you quite simply as “Our Father”. For the wonder of you love, we praise you. You know the joy of Fatherhood and also the pain, for you witnessed the life and death of your Son, and you see each day the triumphs and tragedies of us, your children. Lord God our Father, reach out in love.

Everlasting God, who calls us to be the Body of Christ, we pray for those who hear and respond to your gospel:
with their minds, that they grow in understanding; with their hearts, that they remain strong in you; with their lips that they sing and speak your love and praise; with their hands, that they serve faithfully; with their feet, that they continue to journey with you.
May all our being be totally committed to you and all that you offer through the life, death and resurrection of your Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen

Gracious God, in a world where corruption, deceit, suspicion and ‘fake news’ regularly fill the headlines, we are full of gratitude for the gospel of Christ, which brings light, hope, truth and ‘good news’ into our lives.
May the confidence that we have new life in Christ make a difference to how we respond to the people and circumstances we encounter, so that our words and actions become ‘good news’ for others. In the name of Christ, Amen.

And may the gospel enliven our spirits to see possibilities, to grasp opportunities and to travel in the way of Jesus.
